SOLVED: Beginner Question.. iPhone, iPad, or emulator?

Forums > iOS

@emad

Hi.

I just start learning Swift, my goal is an iOS developer.

I have two questions: 1- M1 Mac Mini is it good for me? 2- Can I test on the emulator? or I must have a physical device? if a physical device is a requirement can I use iPad Mini instead of iPhone?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Yes, your M1 Mac Mini is good enough to start with
  2. You can test on simulator. There are some limitations but they shouldn't be a problem for you. You can use the iPad of yours but if you create an app which requires iPhone (f.e. all Health App stuff is not available on iPad) you can't test it on your iPad. Same goes for Watch App stuff.
